Getting to Bendleby from Perth

Take the ultimate Road Trip from Perth to Bendleby Ranges, and make it a real adventure! We’ve taken the hassle out of planning the adventure – all you need to do is make the trip! 

Please note that this adventure will take you to remote outback places, so please carry water, have an emergency plan, and fill up with fuel where you can as some towns are quite small and remote and facilities are limited.

Day 1

Perth to Coolgardie

From Perth, head East along the Great Eastern Hwy to your first destination, Tammin. Stop at the Roadhouse for a quick break and perhaps a Coffee before you continue East.

Your second stop will be in Southern Cross, where you can grab lunch at the Southern Cross Bakery and Cafe.

From here, you’ll make the final leg to Coolgardie, where there are a range of accommodation options.

Day 2

Coolgardie to Caiguna

From Coolgardie, you continue East to your first stop at Norseman. Grab a Coffee and stretch the legs before continuing East to Balladonia.

From there, you continue East to Balladonia to grab lunch before you tackle 90 mile straight.

At the East end of 90 mile straight, you’ll find Caiguna, your where you’ll stay or make camp for the night.  If you are looking for something to do, check out the Caiguna Blowhole.

Day 3

Caiguna to Nullabor Roadhouse

From Caiguna, you’ll continue East.  We recommend packing morning tea and stopping along the way to your first official pit stop, the Mundrabilla Roadhouse to recharge and refuel.

From Mundrabilla, you’ve got a 3 hour drive to your next destination, being the Nullabor Roadhouse.  Along the way you’ll pass the town of Eucla, then cross the border into SA.  Make sure you keep an eye out for tourist signs to some great rest stops and lookouts as you cross the Great Australian Bight!

Day 4

Nullabor Roadhouse to Kimba

Continue East, meandering along – there are plenty of great places to stop, including the Head of the Bight Visitor centre. Your first pit stop will be at Penong where you can refuel.

Your second spot is Minnipa, where the Community store will be able to sort lunch and fuel.

From there, you’ll continue onto Kimba, your destination for the day. Visit the Silos and check out White Knob lookout.

Day 5

Kimba to Bendleby Ranges

Your first stop on your final day will be to Port Augusta, where you’ll want to check out the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden.

Just over an hour later, you’ll hit Ororoo, the last town before Bendleby. Fill up with fuel, grab last minute groceries from the local IGA, and your meat fix from the local butcher before a nice 45 minute drive along the best dirt road in the country to hit Bendleby, where the real adventure begins!
